Settings
Every app setting, canvas and wall style, room labels, units and precision, grid sizes, handedness, and region.
Settings live in two places that edit the same preferences: the app’s Settings tab, and Menu → Settings inside the editor (on Mac and iPad the full menu shows in the Pointer tool; on iPhone it’s behind the ⋯ menu in any tool). Changes apply immediately and are saved on your device, they travel with the device, not with a particular drawing.
Style
| Setting | Options | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Style | Normal · Blueprint | Normal is a paper-white plan; Blueprint is a deep cyanotype navy with white linework. See Layers & styles. |
| Wall style | Solid · Outline | Solid draws each wall as one thick stroke; Outline draws two thin face lines with clean corner joins and jamb caps at openings. |
Display
| Setting | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Show room labels | Off | Draws each room’s name (uppercase) inside the room. Also toggleable from the Visible layers sheet, which adds the text-size stepper. |
Measurement
| Setting | Options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Units | Meters · Feet · Millimetres · Feet & inches | Display only; geometry is stored in metres. Feet & inches shows lengths like 8' 4". |
| Decimal places | 0–3 | Ignored for millimetres and feet & inches (always whole numbers / inches). |
Canvas grid
| Setting | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Grid | 1 m | The spacing of the heavier major grid lines. |
| Sub grid | 0.5 m | The small squares, the minor grid lines. |
Type either size in your working unit (it commits on Return, or when you tap Done). The Grid value always snaps to a whole number of sub-grid squares so the two grids nest, and the sizes drive the editor canvas, the engine canvases and exports alike. Found in the in-editor Settings.
Handedness
| Setting | Options | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Handedness | Left-handed · Right-handed | Mirrors the palettes, right-handed puts the tools on the left and helpers on the right; left-handed swaps them. |
Region & catalogue
| Setting | Options | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Symbol region | UK · US · AU · EU · All regions | Detected from your device locale, and overridable. Drives which regional symbols the fixture/furniture picker shows, and the default standard in engines. |
| Catalogue | Home · Commercial · All | Filters the picker between residential and fit-out work. |
Region is detected from your locale (GB → UK, US → US, AU/NZ → AU, no locale → All regions, otherwise EU) and can be changed at any time. Symbols tagged for “All regions” always appear, whatever you pick.
Power user
Keyboard commands… (in the in-editor Settings) opens a reference of every shortcut the app understands, tools, items, doors and walls, for the Mac and for iPads with a hardware keyboard. See Keyboard shortcuts.
Symbol library
On the Settings tab, a Symbol library section has a Browse symbol library row. It opens a gallery of every symbol the app can draw, fixtures, furniture, doors, lights and more, lets you browse by region, and exports the set as a PDF.
Set elsewhere
A few preferences live next to the things they affect rather than in Settings, and persist on your device the same way:
- Room-name text size, the stepper in the Visible layers sheet.
- Plan opacity under an engine’s overlays, the Canvas slider in each engine’s settings panel.
- Snap preferences, the Snap, number-snap and Angle lock bubbles beside the canvas; see Editing snaps.
