Build a property brochure from six templates with a drag-to-arrange layout editor, branding with a Brand Kit, photos with crop, Pencil annotations, and a WYSIWYG PDF.
The Marketing engine is the app’s document engine: a polished, print-ready PDF built on top of a floor plan, pretty, not dimension-heavy. See the feature overview; this is the how-to.
It works differently from the other engines: instead of placing things on the plan, you work in a paginated page editor, and the floor plan is rendered as one crisp slot on the page. What you see is exactly what exports.
Add the engine and pick a template
Add the Marketing engine and choose a template, the engine lays everything out, you fill in the content:

Every template has a dedicated landscape design, switch Orientation (and the A4 / US Letter page size) in the engine settings. Tap a slot on the page (or a rail section) to edit it.
Arrange the layout
The templates are a starting point, not a straitjacket. Tap the Layout bubble to switch the page into arrange mode:
- Tap a block to select it, drag to move it, and drag the corner handle to resize it.
- Style it in the inspector, font size, weight and alignment, text colour, box fill and corner radius, plus bring forward / send back and delete.
- The Add menu drops in new blocks: Heading, Text, Image box, Colour box or Logo.
Your first edit turns the built-in template into this document’s own custom layout; Reset discards it and returns to the built-in. Tap Done to go back to filling in content.
Save a layout as a preset
A custom layout can be saved from the Template editor’s My presets, presets live on your device and appear in every project. Export one as a .kalemarketing file to share it, and import a colleague’s from the same place.
Property details
Fill in the property form: address, headline, price text, bedrooms, bathrooms, receptions, tenure, EPC rating, key features and a description.
Branding
Set the agent name and contact, a logo (imported from Photo Library or Files, stored with the document so it travels with it), and an accent colour. The footer carries a disclaimer (default “Plan for illustrative purposes only - not to scale.”) that prints on every page.
Brand Kit
Tap Save as Brand Kit to keep your branding, agent name and contact, accent colour, disclaimer and logo, once for the whole app, then Apply stamps it onto any document. A brand-new, untouched document picks the Brand Kit up automatically, so you enter your branding once, not per property.
Photos
Templates with photo slots (Listing Sheet’s and Open House’s hero, Photo Gallery’s 2×2 grid) let you add images from the camera roll or Files, and an Image box added in arrange mode makes a photo slot anywhere on any template. Photos are aspect-filled, never stretched, with a drag-to-pan and zoom crop so the important part stays in frame, plus an optional caption. Replace or remove any photo.
Annotations (iPad/iPhone)
Use the Annotate mode to mark up any page with Apple Pencil or your finger. Annotations render into both the preview and the PDF. (On Mac, annotations made on iOS are shown but can’t be drawn, an SDK limitation.)
Layers & marketing mode
The plan slot respects eight layer flags (room names, dimensions, furniture, grid, scale bar, north arrow, total floor area, door swings), plus a Furniture opacity slider that fades the furniture so the walls and room names stay dominant. Marketing mode (on by default, one tap) applies a clean preset, dimensions, grid and door swings off; room names, scale bar, north arrow and floor area on, without changing your working drawing.
Frame the plan
The Layers editor’s Frame plan control zooms (up to 6×) and pans the floor plan inside its slot, drag the live preview to reposition, slide to zoom, Reset to refit. The framing is saved with the document and prints exactly as framed.
Page zoom
Pinch (or pinch on a trackpad) and drag to magnify the page while you work, with a floating − / + / Fit control. This is view-only and never changes the PDF.
Floor area
Area is computed automatically and shown in both m² and ft² (UK particulars quote both). Override it with an exact figure when you need to.
Export
Use the prominent Export PDF… control to export a multi-page PDF at A4 or US Letter, portrait or landscape. Because the preview and the PDF use the same layout, the export is pixel-identical to what you see. The “not to scale” disclaimer prints in every footer.
On the free tier the exported PDF carries a light licensing watermark, so you can export a free watermarked sample or spend one export credit for a single clean copy. Full access exports clean every time. The watermark is separate from the “not to scale” footer disclaimer, which always prints.
