Network & IT engine in Kaleidoscope Plan

What it does

Place switches, patch panels, racks, outlets and devices; map each outlet to its patch-panel port, switch port and VLAN; draw cable runs and rack elevations; then auto-generate switch, patch, rack and inventory reports.

Step-by-step guide

Capabilities

What you get

50 device types

Six plain categories cover switches, panels, racks, outlets, PCs, phones, printers, displays, power and AV kit.

End-to-end port mapping

Map each outlet to its patch-panel port, switch port and VLAN, with devices plugged into outlets or straight into a switch.

Room-aware auto-labelling

Clear labels like PC-01 and SW-01, with outlets numbered by room so A-01 and A-02 stay together.

Cable runs and rack elevations

Draw cable-run lines and lay out rack elevations by U position.

Built-in checks

Flags unpatched outlets, double-booked ports, over-full switches and missing VLANs before you sign off.

Reports, PDF and CSV

A multi-page PDF opens with the plan, then adds inventory, per-room, switch, patch, outlet and rack reports. You can also export a CSV for your asset system. Both the PDF and the CSV use one export credit each; the PDF also offers a free watermarked sample.

  2. 2 Add wall outlets and devices.
  3. 3 Link ports and assign VLANs.
  4. 4 Draw cable runs and rack elevations.
  5. 5 Export the PDF reports and CSV.
